Royal Mail Health delivers Pharmacy2U

The Royal Mail has teamed up with Pharmacy2U, the UK’s largest online pharmacy, to offer a complete NHS prescription service that enables patients to order all their NHS prescription needs and have them delivered directly through their home letterbox

Medication can be delivered for free within at least five working days to any address in the UK and users can choose to have it posted through their letterbox, sent via the Royal Mail’s ‘Signed For’ service or left in a nominated safe place – although a signature may be needed for controlled drugs or refrigerated items.

To sign up for the service, users simply register via the Royal Mail website or Royal Mail Health app. Once registered, they simply order their prescription or repeat prescription. The service even sends reminders about re-ordering repeat prescriptions.

Users who usually pay for NHS prescriptions will still need to pay the normal NHS fee (which is £9.35 per item), although those who are exempt from this payment or have a pre-payment certificate will not be charged.
