LATEST ISSUE: Updated NICE guidelines to spur greater uptake of diabetes tech. Hooray!

This has been a fun issue to oversee. The new NICE guidelines are pretty amazing. All Type 1s and some Type 2s to get access to a choice – a choice! – of sensors, and Type 1s also to be offered an insulin pump on the NHS. It’s hard to believe I even just typed that! Plus, we have a coupe of science-y stories looking beyond devices to delivery insulin and track glucose, but to get down to trying to fix Type 1 diabetes as the cellular level. It’s all been giving me a lot of reasons to pause for thought. Things are really happening. We have our usual news stories, KIT coverage as well as a look at the marvellous ingredient that is vinegar in our Making Carbs Count section. Enjoy! – Sue Marshall, editor
