After a two-year absence Diabetes UK is once more holding a 10-mile fund-raising river Thames ‘wellness walk’ in West London on 8 May to raise funds and remind people of the importance – and fun, of exercise. The walk is a loop from the Walled Garden at Syon Park, heading south-west towards Twickenham. It will pass nature reserves and wetlands teeming with wildlife, through the Royal parks, and alongside grand palaces, historic buildings and famous bridges, finishing back at Syon Park for a well-deserved rest. The route is on a well-constructed path. Walkers are reminded the weather could be cool or changeable, so leave the Crocs and flip flops at home and bring a good pair of comfortable flat boots or shoes, with cotton socks.
