BD (Becton, Dickinson and Company) is launching its #livingdiabetestogether campaign to celebrate World Diabetes Day (WDD) on 14 November 2020.
This year, WDD focuses on promoting the role of nurses in the prevention and management of diabetes. Diabetes nurses are with their patients every step of the way, offering support and presence when things are difficult, share in the joys and successes, and have, for many, become mainstays and confidantes along the diabetes journey.
As a result, BD created #livingdiabetestogether to highlight the real relationships between diabetes nurses and their patients, and features patient stories as told by nurses, in which BD has a pivotal role in providing insulin delivery – often many times a day.
The campaign reflects one of BD’s aims to support people living with diabetes in getting their insulin, to enable more lives to be lived to the full.
“As someone living with diabetes, I am thoroughly proud as it shares real stories from us as patients yet through the lenses of our key partners – the diabetes nurse, our families and, of course, companies like BD. I hope that with this campaign, we will raise awareness of the importance of HOW you get your insulin – using the BD tools and education around – rotation of injection sites, using a new needle with every injection and using a 4mm needle length,” said Peter Wallentin BD’s European Marketing Manager who also has Type 1 diabetes.
