Latest issue: Libre 2 set for UK launch; Vitamin D boosters; meet superhero Captain Lantus

On the cover, there’s an invite for you to take a look at the online offerings happening on World Diabetes Day – 14 November (well, one event is on the 12th). From your home, you can see speakers, be they HCPs, fellow people living with diabetes, and all sorts of peeps who are involved in the broad diabetes community. If you don’t fancy it, don’t bother, but maybe take a peek? See p.7.

.One of the bigger news items is on the soon-to-be-available on the NHS FreeStyle Libre 2. Abbott’s follow-on from the original Libre, comes with alerts and alarms, which we explain on p.8.

Superstar Max Rapson is only seven, yet he’s written a book about his experience with diabetes. Meet Captain Lantus, who lives in Beta Town, which is defended by the Insulin Cube. And another couple of Welsh youngsters (also superheroes) have taken 2m steps between them to raise money for Diabetes UK. Respect to the young folk!
