3 teaspoons of sugar

A South African documentary short focusing on three people sharing their experiences living with diabetes is screening online as part of the Annecy International Animated Film Festival.

‘3 Teaspoons of Sugar’ was produced by a mother-and-daughter team, combining their skills in medicine and animation to carve out a unique niche in the South African animation market.

Director Kabelo ‘Cabblow’ Maaka – is an animator, illustrator and animation lecturer, while Co-Director Dr Tshepo P. Maaka is a medical practitioner registered with the Health Professions Council since 1994. Together, they hope to continue to produce content to educate on health to promote compliance and healthy living.
