Cycle for a Type 1 cure JDRF and Ford

Take on the ultimate test track challenge and Cycle for a Cure to eradicate Type 1 diabetes with JDRF – supported by Ford – at a bespoke event on 18 May 2019.

This unique cycling experience with a family-friendly, festival feel, will include a range of workshops, guest speakers, food and an award ceremony on the day. The event will take place on the test track at the Ford Dunston Technical Centre, where you can choose between the advanced (100 km) and intermediate (50 km) courses for adults, as well as a child-friendly route (also on the test track) for the little ones to enjoy.

The UK has one of the highest rates of Type 1 diabetes in the world – for reasons that are currently unknown and every 90 minutes, someone in the UK is told they have it. This event is a vehicle for change for over 400,000 children and adults living with Type 1 diabetes in the UK.
