Older People Diabetes Network National Conference

The first national meeting of the Older People Diabetes Network (OPDN) will take place on Tuesday, 27th November, 2012,  The themes for this free event, which will be held at Glaziers Hall, London Bridge, will include dementia and care homes. A keynote speech will be delivered by Professor Alan Sinclair, Director of IDOP (The Institute of Diabetes for Older People).

The OPDN, which is led by NHS Diabetes and IDOP, brings together health and social care professionals who share the aim of ensuring older people with diabetes get the best possible care. The network, supported by four regional ‘champions’ and four dedicated network coordinators, allows the two-way sharing of good practice, research, news and developments in this field. It was launched in the spring with a series of regional events and then showcased to politicians and dignitaries at a parliamentary event in June.

The national conference will run from 9am to 4.15pm. To register your interest in attending, email info@instituteofdiabetes.org or visit Older People Diabetes Network.
