Etiquette lessons for non-diabetics

An American organization, the Behavioural Diabetes Institute, has listened long and hard to the concerns of people with diabetes and has come up with a set of suggestions (‘etiquette lessons’) for those who do NOT have the condition, including friends and family. Some are very practical (“Don’t look so horrified when I check my blood sugars or give myself an injection”), and some are quote amusing (“Don’t peek or comment on my blood glucose numbers without asking me first”). You can download the full PDF here.

Desang Diabetes Magazine is our free-to-receive digital journal (see below). We cover diabetes news, diabetes management equipment (diabetes ‘kit’ such as insulin pumps and continuous glucose monitoring equipment) and news about food suitable for a diabetic diet including a regular Making Carbs Count column. We just need your email address to subscribe you (it really is free, and you can easily unsubscribe should you wish to).
