Food data on phones for Tesco and Asda food ranges

Tesco and Asda have released their food databases in an initiative created by FoodWiz. The mobile phone app (for both iphone and android systems) aims to help people with food intolerances, IBS and coeliac disease and can be usefully used by people with diabetes too.

The purpose of our patented solution is to improve the food shopping experience, by focusing on the specific information that consumers want when they buy a food product.

Download the app then register an account with the FoodWiz web site at www.FoodWiz.co then select the information you would like to receive.
Use the camera on your phone to identify items by barcode. Storing the database on the phone returns information on a product almost instantly from barcode recognition. Once you have the database you don’t even need a signal on your phone to go shopping with FoodWiz. You can update your database as little or as often as you like.

The FoodWiz database provides information on 86,543 food products sold in the UK. FoodWiz takes the guesswork out of buying food.
