Flying with Diabetes

On 17 September 2011, at Waltham Airfield in Maidstone, Douglas Cairns and Karl Beetson will be hosting the first Flying with Diabetes day, where families can come and listen to inspirational talks about people living with type 1 diabetes.

Following the success of his world records, Diabetes Flight 48, 50 and most recently Diabetes Polar Flight 50, Douglas is delighted to have the chance to share his love of flying and knowledge of type 1 diabetes and to do so with fellow type 1 pilot Karl Beetson.

Once guests have registered for the day, they will be entered into a prize draw for their chance to take part in one of six flights taking place throughout the day.  Each flight will last approximately 15 minutes.  During the event JDRF’s activities will also be highlighted and donations to the charity will be very welcome. The day will start at 12 noon finishing at 3pm, with a barbeque available for lunch.

If you would like to register for the event please click on the register now button below. If you have any questions about the day please email Hannah Roberts on greaterlondon@jdrf.org.uk.
