December 2010 newsletter news: Flexitol heel balm

Flexitol Heel Balm is a medically proven treatment for dry, cracked feet.  It has just been reclassified as a medical device by the NHS BSA pricing prescription division. As a result, two new packs have been introduced for dispensing against NHS prescriptions. The packs included on the prescription list are 75g and 200g and are a cost effective way of treating anhydrotic (red, cracked or itchy) skin, sometimes referred to as ‘cracked heels’, which is sometimes a symptom of diabetes and can be serious if not treated.

Flexitol Heel Balm is widely used and recommended by healthcare professionals such as dermatologists, diabetes specialists, as well as podiatrists and practice nurses. The prescription PIP codes are 3341989 for 75g and 3341997 for 200g.
