No recall on Medtronic MiniMed 640g insulin pump

Recent field action FA641 affects some MiniMed 640G Medtronic insulin pump users in the UK and Ireland. Terminology within it suggested it was a product recall. Only 271 pump users are affected and they have been issued with a new user guide supplied by their local Healthcare Professional. No pumps are actually being recalled. The confusion has arisen because FDA in America refers to any field safety action as a recall regardless whether the product is being retrieved by the manufacturer or not.
