Type 1 Parliament panel debate Wednesday 25 April 2012

JDRF, the type 1 diabetes charity invites you to join 60 children and adults living with type 1 diabetes as they quiz the Minister for Science, David Willetts MP, and other MPs on the lack of funding for medical research into autoimmune conditions.

Delegates will march across Westminster Bridge calling for increased funding before meeting with MPs to explain the impact the condition has on their daily lives – physically, socially and economically.

Former Political Editor of The Sun, George Pascoe Watson is to chair a debate on investment in research with a panel including David Willetts MP, Minister of State for Universities and Science, Sharmilla Nebhrajani , Chief Executive of the Association of Medical Research Charities, Dr Fiona Campbell, Consultant Paediatrician and Diabetologist at St James’s University Hospital and the NHS Diabetes Clinical Lead for the Paediatric Diabetes Network Development in England, Professor Mark Peakman, Professor of Clinical Immunology at King’s College Hospital and Dr Peter Hammond,a Consultant in Diabetes and Endocrinology at Harrogate District Hospital.
