Selling tea to China

Colleagues at West Sussex-based Dr Stuart’s herbal teas currently have no time to put their feet up with a cuppa after striking the ultimate deal, to sell tea to China, during a recent business trip to the Far East. The Storrington based operation is now on track to ship its first container to the region with plans well underway to launch its range of uniquely British herbal teas in large department stores across Shanghai, Beijing and Guangzhau.

The business was started by Keith Garden working in collaboration with ethnobotanist Dr Malcolm Stuart to develop extraordinarily good herbal teas using only active botanicals (the highest quality herbs from the most prized part of the plants). Dr Stuart’s started out with just two blends but now has 21 different teas to choose from, including some to help consumers unwind, detox and even get to sleep at night.

And although overseas markets are important to Dr Stuart’s, the company remains firmly rooted in this country. www.drstuarts.com
