Feb 2011 newsletter KIT: Xceedingly good thinking

This is a simple and straight-forward little blood test meter, the Optium Xceed from Abbott has a large, backlit display for reading results and a large memory capacity of up to 450 events (including personal blood glucose, blood ketone results, control solution tests results and other meter information). It includes an ‘averaging’ feature as well. This meter is the first to incorporate ketone testing (anyone who has experienced sustained high blood sugars can also check if their body has started to release ketones in response, and act accordingly  — call their GP and/or go to hospital).
